Fertilizer & Weed Control Program
Traditional Program Overview
March 15th-April 30th: Granular spring fertilizer to boost lawn color and assist the turf out of winter dormancy.
May 1st – June 15th: Granular spring fertilizer and weed control as needed. Blanket application needed in weedy areas and spot treat all weeds and clover. This is the best time of year to begin the weed free process.
June 16th – July 31st: Summer granular fertilizer and weed control. Spot treatment is preferred to reduce weeds as needed. Blanket needed in weedy areas.
August 1st – September 15th: Summer granular fertilizer and weed control. A full weed control application may be needed but effectiveness is decreased due to mature stage of weeds and higher temperatures.
September 16th – October 31st: Fall granular fertilizer. This is one of the best times of year to apply nutrients to your lawn. It helps retain the color and is very beneficial for the root development. Nutrients applied during this time will help your lawn through the colder months. The benefits are carried over to the next spring.
